In addition, the Scheldt Delta is a productive and safe area for people. The Oosterschelde is rich in shellfish, the coast is well-visited by tourists and the Westerschelde estuary is a busy sea route. The effects of sea level rise, subsidence, degradation of nature, and navigability for increasingly larger ships affect this area at present and will do so in the future. How can we deal with these issues?<\/p>\n\n\n<div id=\"link-list-block_5edf3696c8b82\" class=\"block-link-list-inner \">\n            <h2>Working conference June 1 &amp; 2<\/h2>\n    \n            <p>People benefit from a resilient delta area, where these issues are taken care of and where there is a sound balance between water safety, accessibility and nature. Such issues are major challenges for eco-engineers, civil engineers and water managers. This practical approach is also a great learning experience for students.
