Design your own Marker Wad in the National Dredging Museum

During the Christmas holidays children are more than welcome in the Dredging museum. They can design their own nature island and lay them on a scale model of the Markermeer. Playfully, the children learn how to choose the best place for an island, how to make an island and how much sediment you need. After the Christmas holidays, the Dredging Museum hands over the scale model with the islands to the Dutch Society for Nature Conservation (Vereniging Natuurmonumenten), as inspiration for a second phase of the Marker Wadden.
The activity is part of the temporary exhibition ‘Building with Nature’ which opened in October.
