Groningen and Rotterdam will accommodate Global Climate Adaptation Centre

The international knowledge centre for climate adaptation will be accommodated in Groningen and Rotterdam. These two cities have reeled in the Global Centre of Excellence on Climate Adaptation (GCECA) by jointly submitting the most convincing bid.

EcoShape and other organisations supported the joint bid of Rotterdam and Groningen, by emphasizing the regional knowledge that was already present. EcoShape is, together with many other partners, a part of the ‘eco system’ of the Climate Centre.

The centre will bring a large worldwide network of partners together, including knowledge institutes, companies, stake holders, local and national government and the financial sector. Their common goal is to support parties in practising climate adaptation more effectively. The knowledge centre will be set up in collaboration with the United Nations and Japan.
